Somewhere in the world, right now, somebody is playing padel. A four is warming up in Madrid, an evening league is under way in Dubai, a first lesson is starting in Buenos Aires, and a club in Stockholm is booked out until late. EVERY PADEL SHOT™ — The World’s Padel Clock — is DO→PADEL’s way of showing that all of those games belong to one sport, played around the clock and around the world.
WHAT EVERY PADEL SHOT™ IS
EVERY PADEL SHOT™ is a live figure on the net of the DO→PADEL landing page: the estimated number of padel shots played worldwide since 25 September 2026 at 00:00 UTC. It sits inside the padel net itself — EVERY in gold, PADEL SHOT™ in white, a slowly turning DO→PADEL ball, the figure, and a line that says exactly what the figure is. Only the figure moves quickly. Everything around it stays still, because it is meant to feel like a heartbeat rather than a scoreboard.
It is an estimate, and it says so. No court, racket or ball is being counted. The figure comes from a published model of how much padel the world plays, and DO→PADEL has published that model’s headline assumptions, its formula and its limitations in full on the EVERY PADEL SHOT™ methodology page.
WHY DO→PADEL CREATED IT
DO→PADEL is a global padel platform. Its directory lists padel clubs by country, region and city, and its news, events and community cover the sport worldwide. What no directory can show is the sport in motion: the fact that, at almost every moment of every day, padel is being played somewhere.
EVERY PADEL SHOT™ makes that visible. It turns a global sport into one number you can watch change, and it gives every player, club and court a share in it. The game you play tonight is part of the figure, and so is the game on the other side of the world.
A SPORT PLAYED AROUND THE CLOCK
Padel is played on every inhabited continent. Its heartlands are in Spain, Italy and Argentina, and it is growing quickly across the rest of Europe, the Gulf, the Americas and Asia–Pacific. Because those places sit in different time zones, the world’s padel day never really stops. It swells as Europe’s evening sessions and the Gulf’s cooler night-time play come together. It quietens when the Americas are asleep and Asia is only starting its day.
EVERY PADEL SHOT™ follows that rhythm. On its first day, 25 September 2026, the model’s rate moved from about 1,400 estimated shots a second at 06:00 UTC to about 11,000 a second at 18:00 UTC. That is the shape of a sport that is played around the world, not a number that simply ticks upward at a fixed speed.
HOW CLUBS, COURTS AND PLAYERS COUNT
The model starts with courts, because courts are where padel happens. It uses an estimated global base of 78,450 padel courts at the end of 2025, grouped into 32 playing regions and calibrated against published national and global court totals. It grows that base by 12% a year, to about 85,270 courts on 25 September 2026.
Each region then plays according to its own clock:
- the local hour, because courts are busiest in the evening and quietest overnight
- the day of the week, because weekends play differently from working days, and Gulf regions keep a Friday–Saturday weekend
- the season, because summer heat, southern-hemisphere winter and the northern holidays all change how much people play
- the kind of play, because rally length and pace vary from place to place
Clubs are represented by the courts they run and players by the court-hours they play — a padel match is normally four people on one court. Version 1.0 of the model uses no separate player count, and it does not claim one.
Finally, the model converts court-hours of play into shots. Its rate is 960 shots in an hour of play — about one shot every 3.75 seconds on a court. That figure reflects rally length, shot cadence and the share of a booked hour in which the ball is actually in play. It blends recreational and competitive padel and is informed by peer-reviewed match analysis.
WHAT “PADEL SHOTS PLAYED WORLDWIDE SINCE 25 SEPTEMBER 2026” MEANS
The figure is cumulative. EVERY PADEL SHOT™ began counting at 00:00 UTC on 25 September 2026, and the number on the net is the estimated total of every padel shot played worldwide from that moment until now. It does not reset at midnight in any time zone. That is deliberate: it is one global total, the same for everybody, wherever in the world they are reading it.
At the level of a single day, the arithmetic is simple enough to check by hand. On 25 September 2026 the model estimates about 5.5 hours of play per court, averaged across the whole court base. So 85,266 courts × 5.49 hours × 960 shots comes to about 449.6 million estimated shots that day — an average of about 5,200 a second.
WHY THE NUMBER NEVER STOPS
The server works out the figure for the instant each page is requested and writes it into the page itself, so the number is there even before any script runs. The browser then counts forward from that value at the current estimated rate, and checks back with the server every minute. The rate itself changes every 30 minutes as each region moves through its day. The model is deterministic, so the same instant gives the same figure for everybody. The number always rises, and it never jumps or runs backwards.
WHAT IS MEASURED, AND WHAT IS MODELLED
DO→PADEL keeps the two apart. The DO→PADEL padel club directory is known data: real clubs, published by country, region and city, which you can browse to find somewhere to play. EVERY PADEL SHOT™ is modelled data: an estimate built from published court totals, typical activity patterns and a shots-per-hour rate.
In version 1.0 the directory is not an input to the figure, and the figure does not claim to measure what happens on any particular court. Weather, holidays, tournaments and local events are not modelled. Published court totals also differ from source to source. The methodology page sets out every one of these limits, dates the model, and states that any change to an assumption will move the version.
